Scooter in the Sunshine: Tampa Bay

Scooter in the Sunshine: Tampa Bay

Tampa is called a “transplant city” for a reason – it is a southern city full of northerners. Tampa residents come from Boston, New York, Philly, Chicago, and more to find a sunnier version of their original city. The only problem is, Tampa has all the traffic of a northern city, without the proximity. The Tampa hot spots are spread out, so normally cars and ride-share apps are the only option, but not if you have your own electric scooter!

In Tampa, motor scooters are legal, and our Uber Scuuters are seated, which means they are street-legal. This allows Uber Scuuter owners the freedom to venture anywhere in Tampa they please. Tampa has thrown out any chance of electric scooter sharing companies, so owning an Uber Scuuter in the area is the perfect option!

Riverside

You can hardly say the word “Tampa” without immediately following it with “Bay.” The Tampa Bay is one of the gorgeous harbors linked to the Gulf of Mexico. But Tampa has another body of water that weaves its way around the city: the Hillsborough River. The best spots in Tampa are riverside and easily accessible with your electric scooter. This includes the brand new Armature Works, which is a fully-restored warehouse, housing the Heights Public Market. Once you ride your electric scooter over, you can grab a seat outside for the live music every weekend, or an outdoor yoga session. Don’t worry, your foldable scooter will be easy to store while you get your ~Namaste~ on. Right next door is a restaurant gem of Tampa: Ulele. Based on a Native American Princess, a reminder of the Seminole tribe of Tampa, Ulele serves locally caught seafood and only serves Tampa-based alcohol brands (but no drinking & scooting, please!). There is a huge outdoor seating area if you just want to try the Oysters Rockefeller and scoot on downtown. It will only take minutes to scooter your way to Curtis Hixon Park, where you can attend festivals, Zumba in the Park, or catch a concert any time of year.

Cruisin’ Channelside

You would have to be crazy to walk from downtown all the way to Channelside Drive, but with your electric scooter, you can easily get to Amalie Arena for a Lightning game. Afterward, pop over to Sparkman Wharf next door, which is newly renovated and hosts outdoor watch parties of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers games, all with the spectacular view of the Tampa Bay! Locals know that the price to park at Sparkman Wharf is brutal, but you won’t have to worry about that, you have a compact, foldable scooter!

Island Hopping

Tampa’s best spots are far apart, but instead of racking up that ride-share charge, grab your electric scooter for some island hopping! No worries here, the bridges crossing the Hillsborough are small, and perfect for scooting! Here’s what we suggest: start downtown at Taco Bus and grab an empanada (they aren’t on the menu, you have to ask!). Then scooter over the Kennedy Bridge to Oxford Exchange for some coffee and to browse their breathtaking home and bookstore. Finally, head over the quaint Platt Street Bridge (it lights up at night!) to check out the view from The Sail, the southernmost point of the mainland. It’s right next to a stand-up paddleboard rental if you want to put in some water time! Scoot around to Davis Island for dinner- on East Davis Boulevard you have all the options you could ever desire! Finish up the night by riding east to Bayshore Boulevard, pack up your foldable scooter and take a seat so you can watch the sunset over the Tampa Bay.

Tampa is the perfect sunny city to zoom around on your new electric scooter, pick yours out and start your island hopping today!
